Native Youth Exhibition

Nuwu Art's Native Youth Exhibit was a partnership with Indian Education (CCSD IEOP) to create an exhibition that reaches the 631 Native American students enrolled in the IEOP program. A call for art went out with an exhibition of selected works from students. Students were able to reflect on their strengths and skills as they benefit and impact their community through art. Native students were also able to connect with peers and professional artists through collaboration and mentorship. They learned from themselves and others by understanding, empathizing, and respecting themselves as artists.

"There are so many Native youth in the Clark County School District that do not have the chance to have their artistic skills formally recognized and there are also many who are outside of being enrolled in the Indian Education Opportunities Program. To be inclusive of all Native students, we also accepted work from charter school, private school and home schooled students."
