Mariachi Meets Classical

In the UNIDOS Project, students embark on a transformative journey that extends beyond musical education. Students blend classical and mariachi music under mentors Beto Jimenez and Noybel Gorgoy. Through rehearsals, workshops, and performances, participants engage in cross-cultural exchange, fostering inclusivity and broadening their musical perspectives.

IMPACTING

“Since 2015, we have presented over 140 concerts and events in Southern Nevada, making us one of the largest programmers of the performing arts. Nevertheless, the UNIDOS project has taken our work and community standing to new levels. It's allowed us to integrate with students and musicians of various ethnic and musical cultures, while collaborating on an incredibly impressive project. The overall result is a professional recording that could have been released by any major professional mariachi or symphony. The recording is a testament to the musical talent of our community, and how much youth can achieve when they are inspired, motivated, and working collectively to attain their dreams.” -Yunior Lopez (Music Director / Project Coordinator)
